Viability Week!

Yay for making it to viability week! Hopefully baby has a few more months of growing left to do, but at least we know he/she would stand a decent chance of survival if born early!

I also plan on having a lot of pictures next week, since we're coming up on Christmas, so I'll just save it all until then!

Pregnancy Symptoms
I've been feeling pretty good this week! It seems to come in every other week spurts. I've been a little tired, but that could be due to some insomnia at night and also a little boy who had a nasty cough over the weekend.

If I wait too long to eat I get heartburn, and eventually start getting the shakes and sweating...it's just not a good thing, so I make sure I always have a snack on hand. It makes me nervous for my GD test on Monday, but I had the same issues when pregnant with Corbin and didn't have to deal with GD!

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of an ear of corn! Lots of development going on in the lungs this week as well as the ears! Baby can hear Jersey barking, Corbin not using his inside voice, and us talking! Baby is starting to pack on the pounds, weighing in at around 1.5 lb already!

17 weeks to go!

Life in General
I don't even have any pictures this week because I'm literally too lazy to take them off of my phone and put them on my computer. That's the kind of week I'm having!

We had our usual skating, a supper night with friends, and a relaxing weekend. Mom and Dad came down to visit because Dad played hockey in town. Corbin had so much fun with Grandma and we baked cookies! He also really liked watching Grandpa play hockey!

Pregnancy Symptoms
I've just been exhausted this week. Is it a growth spurt?! I don't know, but it sure feels like it. I'm hungry and tired!! My hip seems to be feeling better after bringing me to tears on Friday night. Hopefully we don't have any more awful pains like last week.

18 to go!

Life in General
It seems like life is really speedy by these days. We had another short work week last week, and then Tim and I headed to Fargo for the beet convention and an overnight stay! It was fun to catch up with friends, do some shopping, and just have some time to relax!

We also had a retirement party for my mother in law last weekend. Of course we couldn't get by without going to see Santa, too! Or at least try.....Corbin wouldn't get close to him at all, and just wanted to enjoy his cookie instead. So, at least we have pictures to prove we tried :)

We got a train to go around the Christmas tree this year, and it has definitely been a hit!! It's so fun watching how excited Corbin gets when it's on! I think I'm pretty much done Christmas shopping, and now pretty much done wrapping! Can't wait to finish out our busy December and then celebrate Christmas!

Pregnancy Symptoms
I've been hit hard with the hip pain. We've at least narrowed it down to a muscle that's giving me trouble. I've done a lot of research on this, finding that this is very common, and finding relief after my massage on Monday. I'm also feeling like this belly has really popped out lately!

Baby C is now about the size of a spaghetti squash (11" and 1lb). Baby is SO busy moving all the time, I'm wondering if he/she is ever going to sleep after birth!! haha. Best feeling ever :)

Life in General
It was so great to have a short week! Our week started off with the birth of our new niece!! Norah Jean was born on Tuesday. We had so much fun snuggling her!

Then it was ultrasound day!!!!!! Baby C was moving around the whole time! It was so fun watching him/her suck their thumb, kick, swallow, and just stretch out! everything turned out perfect, and we didn't get any hint of the gender!

THEN, it was Thanksgiving! We had a great meal and some game playing out at the farm on Thursday, then headed up to Hallock later on Friday to spend the rest of the weekend with family! Corbin and Axel had a great time together, as always, and my Uncle and Aunt came up from the cities to surprise everyone! It was a great weekend and we couldn't wait to go home and take a nap on Sunday!

Halfway!!!

Life in General
The week started off with skating as usual, then by the end of the week we headed to get Corbin a hair cut. That guy's hair grows faster than anyone else's I've ever seen! I also got pampered with some highlights and a trim, too!

This weekend was super productive! On Saturday we put up all of the Christmas decorations, the tree, and the outside lights! It looks so festive and fun, especially in the evenings. I wish the lighted garland could stay up all year, because it makes the house all cozy! Corbin had a blast putting ornaments on the tree and setting up his nativity set!

It was a nice weekend at home before our lives turn busy! I don't think we have a week/weekend until after New Years that isn't busy. Gotta love this time of year!

Pregnancy Symptoms
This week is starting off really uneasy. Starting Sunday night and continuing today, I've been feeling like my insides are really squished, I'm exhausted even after getting good sleep, and just feel nauseous and yucky. I don't remember feeling like this at all with Corbin after the first trimester. I guess baby likes to remind me he/she's in there, since the majority of life is focused around a toddler! Oh, and heartburn. Can't forget about that! I have tums with 24/7.

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of a small cantaloupe! Crazy! I sure feel like that's what I've got in my belly. Movements have started to become more frequent and strong, especially in the evenings. It's so fun!! Baby is working on taste buds this week and practicing swallowing amniotic fluid. Ultrasound on Wednesday--stay tuned!!

19 Weeks--Baby #2!

Life in General
This past weekend we put up a few Christmas decorations!! Yay! I have been in the holiday mood for quite a while now. I know people say Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet, but who says your house can't have lighted garland up for Thanksgiving?! It certainly doesn't look like fall outside anymore!

Corbin's favorite meal lately is "thoop"! Specifically "Mane-o thoop!" He's such a character. His new favorite saying is, "thank you, Mommy" for every little thing! He's been busy with skating on Monday nights (going great so far!), daycare all day, and chasing Jersey around in the evenings. He also loves to do his favorite chores of unloading the dishwasher and laundry. He's such a good helper!

On Sunday, we had a girls get-together and did some string art! I'd never done it before, and it was so fun!

Pregnancy Symptoms
I've been feeling pretty great overall this week. The only thing I've been dealing with is a cold/sinus thing that I'm not sure is pregnancy related at all or not. My throat gets sore at night and everything drains in the morning. Baby has been busy in the evenings! Movements I've felt haven't been super strong yet, but definitely know there's something in there!

18 weeks!

Life in General

I don't have much for pictures to share this week! Corbin had his first week of skating last week!! He was a little nervous at first, but with Grandpa's help and Grandma to skate to, we got through the half hour! He was MUCH more excited to go skating this week and actually did really well!! I think he'll be a natural!

The it was opening deer hunting weekend! Corbin had some good bonding time with his Dad, while Mom sat in a tree stand all weekend with no sign of any deer.

Pregnancy Symptoms
This week has been pretty off and on. The mornings seem to be rough again with some slight nausea, and a bad gag reflex. I've had this little cold or whatever since the beginning of pregnancy, and now it's bad in my sinuses again. If it's not gone by my next appointment (the 25th), I'm going to see if we can do anything for it. My Dr kept saying it was normal, but this has been going on for months now without any relief---and now dry coughing because of the drip. I got a massage on Monday morning for these darn hips, and man did it feel great!! Hopefully with all the stretches I'm doing, it will hold until my next massage!

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of a sweet potato!! Baby is busy yawning, hiccuping, swallowing, and sucking! Baby is also busy moving around in there!

Halloween & 17 weeks!

Life in General
Started off last week with a Dr appt! Baby's heart rate was in the 160's and turns out I'm measuring a week ahead. My Dr was wondering if we'd had an ultrasound yet, and he looked at those measurements and baby was right on time, so he is chalking it up to my short torso for now :)

Then came Halloween! After many costume debates, Mickey Mouse was the winner. Corbin was a little unhappy about the thought of putting his "jammies" on in the middle of the afternoon. We went trick or treating a few places, and he finally got the hang of getting candy/treats in his pumpkin! Axel was The Grinch, and the boys are just as cute as can be together! Everyone enjoyed Dad's "haunted yard" and he's already planning for next year!

Pregnancy Symptoms
For the most part I have been feeling great this week. I have had a few days/times where I've really felt yucky. I also had a day where I couldn't eat ENOUGH and felt like I was starving all day. Still having issues with my hips, mostly just at night. Heartburn also started this week! Don't go too far without the Tums!

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of an onion (5")! Baby is starting to put on some fat, and bones are started to harden.

Baby #2--16 Weeks!

Life in General
Time seems to be flying by! We had a pretty uneventful week last week, but a busy weekend! Saturday was lefse making day! Corbin and I loaded up and headed to Hallock for the day. Corbin and Axel had a blast hanging out with Grandpa, while the girls made lefse! It was really delicious and I think turned out to be the best we've ever made! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the two busy boys chasing each other around.

Sunday was also entirely too busy for my liking as I had a FULL sheet cake to bake and make frosting for so I can decorate it tonight! Let's just hope my little helper isn't as interested in frosting as he normally is.... :)

Looking forward to Halloween this weekend!! Dad always goes all out and does a "haunted yard"! Glad it worked out so we'll be able to be up and help with that!! More pictures to come in next week's update!

Pregnancy Symptoms
I really could just copy and paste what I wrote down for last week. Still feeling pretty awesome overall. I do however have one issue that has come back with a VENGEANCE this pregnancy.....

Symphysis Pubis Disfunction:
During pregnancy or birth, about one in 35 women will experience intense pelvic pain and may find it difficult to walk, climb stairs, and other movements that involve the pelvic bones. This pain is a result of separation of the symphysis pubis which is a joint in the very front part of the pelvic bone structure. There is cartilage that fills the gap in the bones. During pregnancy, hormones such as relaxin soften this cartilage allowing the pelvic bones to be more flexible for delivery. Some women, however, have too much play in the pelvis causing a large gap between the bones. This makes the symphysis pubis area extremely sensitive to touch.
It's awful. It wasn't this bad when I was pregnant with Corbin, and it has started much earlier this time. Corbin accidentally stepped on my inner hip area where this joint is, and OH MAN I almost screamed out in pain! Ugh, not fun...but thankfully it usually goes away after birth.

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of an avocado! Baby C is starting to be able to hear--how exciting!! Muscles are continuing to grow so baby can start to straighten out! A big growth spurt is coming...

Weekly Questions
Exact Weeks/Days Pregnant:  16 weeks
What size is the baby right now?  Approximately the size of an avocado.
Weight gain/loss:  Down .5lb, down 1.5 overall.

Stretch marks?  Nothing new
Sleep? Pretty good, except the hip pain has been bad again.
Best moment this week? Lefse making!
Symptoms: See above :)
Food cravings: Popcorn/crispy chicken salad...particularly from Speedway.
Food aversions: Nothing that I can think of!
Gender: Tim is convinced it's a girl--haven't had much time to even think about it!
Belly button in or out? In

New name--and 15 week baby update!

Notice the new name change! It's time to add on the other member of our family! Corbin is going to be a big brother, if you hadn't heard!

I borrowed (ok, stole) this blog layout from a friend who has a great organized blog for her pregnancies, and I really enjoyed it. Thanks, Amy!! Corbin will still get his own updates from time to time, and baby will hopefully get an update each week using this format! ENJOY! :)

Life in General
Life has been busy for us lately! We seem to hardly ever be home in the evenings without something to do. We've been spending lots of time with family on both sides, which is fun for Corbin to see his cousins. We spent all afternoon/evening Sunday cheering on my parents at StartUp weekend in Grand Forks. They have a brilliant idea that has the potential to help millions of people, and it was truly amazing seeing this as a reality. They deserve this win!!

Tim and I also got to have a much needed day date after harvest was completed! It was so fun to go see a movie (The Intern--highly recommend!), do some shopping, and take our time eating at Red Lobster! Harvest was a success this year, and they're just working to finish up field work and putting things away before the shop work season begins. I'm excited to get life back to normal.

Pregnancy Symptoms
I've actually been feeling pretty great!! I get full easily, and in the evenings tend to not eat as much...and then I wake up starving! I have moments of nausea, but it's usually brought on by a smell or something that I think would make anybody nauseous. Finally feeling like I'm getting some energy back---until it's like 9:00 and I'm curled up on the couch under a blanket. Then all bets are off on how long I'll stay awake!

Baby Updates
Baby C is now about the size of an orange, about 4 inches long and approximately 2.5oz! Baby C's legs are catching up with the rest of his body proportion-wise. He can also sense light too, so if I were to shine a flashlight at my tummy, he'd likely turn away from it. Before long, his taste buds will be in place, and he'll be able to taste.

Weekly Questions
Exact Weeks/Days Pregnant:  15 weeks
What size is the baby right now?  Approximately the size of a orange.
Weight gain/loss:  up 1 lb this week--still 1 lb under pre preg weight
Maternity clothes? My pants have pretty much all transitioned, but still wearing mostly non maternity tops
Stretch marks?  Nothing new
Sleep? It's been great except for the random bouts of insomnia around 4am
Best moment this week? Mom and Dad winning StartUp weekend :)
Symptoms: some round ligament pains, sore hips.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular at the moment
Food aversions: I FINALLY gave in and tried some bbq sauce yesterday when looking at the bottle in the fridge didn't want to make me puke, and I think I might be over that aversion!!!
Gender: Have been feeling girl the whole time--wondering how real that feeling is, though...
Belly button in or out? In
Movement? Little flutters
What I miss? Being able to do T25 and working on getting into shape.
What I'm looking forward to: Making lefse with Mom and Sis this weekend!
Milestones: Finally feeling like I look pregnant...

15 weeks with Corbin (will update this baby's pic after I take it tonight!)

"Hereyago, Mommy" and other recent happenings

Corbin's new favorite saying is "Hereyago, Mommy" or "Hereyago, Daddy" or pretty much anybody he's talking to! We've been really working on getting him to use the words he knows instead of just whining. It's been fairly helpful! It's nice to know what he wants instead of trying to guess. We had a busy few weekends around our house!

One weekend in September, we had Axel over! The boys had SO MUCH FUN together and were so well behaved! I was exhausted by the end of the weekend since it was the middle of harvest, but how could you not love spending a weekend with these two cuties?!

We also got to have Aspen come over and play! Unlike how Axel is clearly the follower at this point, Aspen just might be the instigator in this cousin relationship! She wasn't doing much following, but Corbin sure let her try things before he would--I have a feeling we'll have our hands full with these two! It's so fun for him to have a cousin on each side of the family who is the same age!

Some of our other recent favorite things include:

"Mane-o Thoop!" (a reference to whatever kind of soup he's eating). It's obviously a favorite food of his, because he's been eating at least 3 bowls of whatever kind of soup we have!

"Meemo!" He's also in love with Finding Nemo. That DVD is currently in his DVD player in the car, and it's the only movie he'll sit through in it's entirety. I'm nervous about trying a new movie for fear of him throwing a fit!!

Giving Jersey a treat in the morning. It's part of our "routine" now....

Sitting on the couch, grabbing a blanket, and kicking out the footrest of the recliner. Every time Corbin or someone else sits down, he makes sure all of those things are done! haha.

We're also working on bottom 2 year molars. They've been causing trouble for quite a while now, and he's been a drooling machine and not sleeping as late as he usually does. COME ON TEETH!!!!!

This boy is all grown up. He had his second "school picture" taken! I can't get over how adorable this picture is, but I may be biased! :)

TWO!

I'm not sure how it's possible, but it is....we have a 2 year old!! We're still working on getting him to accept that....he still says "ONE!" before changing his mind to "Two" when asked how old he is!

We had a great birthday party celebration yesterday! We decided to keep it a little more low key this year with just our immediate families and a few of Corbin's friends! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was the theme this year, and boy did we have an excited kid when he woke up from nap and saw all the decorations!!! He couldn't believe how much Mickey was in our house! :) He had such a great day!!

A few questions about the birthday boy:

Nicknames: Corbie, Corbie D, Monk

Clothes size: 2T

Shoe size: 7

Diaper size: 5

Birthday Party Theme: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Loves to Play: Tractors

Likes to help with: Laundry, Unloading the Dishwasher, Vacuuming

Always talks about: Tractors and Jersey

Favorite Toy: All of the tractors

Favorite Food: Hot dogs and Mac and Cheese

Favorite Animal: Jersey

Favorite Book: Moo, Baa, LaLaLa, Not the Hippopotamus, The Goodnight Book

Favorite TV show/Movie: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Favorite things to do: Play outside, FaceTime, "Driving" anything, Seeing the pickup, Go on the pontoon, Play Elmo on the iPad, Pretend cooking/grilling, Getting the "meal" (mail), Riding in the combine/tractor, Going down the slide, Going to Kim's, Talking on the phone--particularly to his Grandparents!

As you can see, our birthday boy keeps us quite busy these days!! He's such a little lover who gives the best hugs and kisses, and doesn't like to let certain people leave the house without a kiss on the lips! Yesterday, it was "Ungle" Evan who couldn't be without a good sloppy kiss!!

We're so lucky to have such an awesome photographer right in the family! Thanks for all the great pictures, Grandpa Loren! :)
